STOBER ANTRIEBSTECHNIK GMBH & CO. KG TAIWAN BRANCH
About Us
HistoryBrief Outline
In 1934 Paul and Wilhelm Stöber set up a mechanical workshop. They wanted to see their ideas come to life and perfect imperfections in mechanical designs.
This spirit lives on in our company today.
The gear engineers designed the compatible MGS geared motor system which was launched in 1990/91. This modular design, along with the machining of closed housings in one clamping, created high quality and were revolutionary for the industrial sector.
While product innovations were being developed, STOBER decided to expand its international presence. In 1991 an important step was taken towards a globally acting company by setting up a subsidiary company with its own assembly plant in Maysville, Kentucky.
STOBER’s brand promise has been ringing true. The company has expanded production capacities twice since 2000. New buildings have been invested in in order to meet the continuously rising demand for STÖBER products. In 2014 the mark of 100,000,000.-- EURO was passed for the first time. The course has been set for further sustainable growth.
In 1943 the variable speed drive developed by STÖBER was launched. Speed adjustment was accomplished by means of a steplessly adjustable friction gear unit. This innovation revolutionized manufacturing. For the first time it became possible to adjust the machining speed of separate machining steps individually and easily.
Already towards the late the 1970s Bernd Stöber, technical director from the second generation of the Stöber family, realized the growing importance of electric speed adjustment for drive technology. He introduced this new technology into the company. Soon afterwards frequency inverters, servo controllers and the corresponding software by STÖBER set new standards in this industrial sector.
Continuing the founders‘ tradition of optimizing solutions, and analyzing chances to make things even better, in 1993 the SMS servo modular system was introduced. STÖBER was the first supplier throughout the world that managed to directly mate high-precision planetary gearing with dynamic servo-motors. In addition to reduced weight and space requirements, customers enjoyed significant cost savings.
Since the beginning of the new millenium the company has been managed by the 3rd generation of the Stöber family, Patrick Stöber and Andreas Thiel.
Under their direction constant product innovations made STÖBER a system supplier for the complete machine automation. From the machine shaft to the control level our customers are provided with a complete automation solution that is configured in an optimal way.
