How Are Weld Tint and Rust Spots Completely Removed? The Necessity of Pickling and Passivation.

After welding or machining, the natural protective layer on stainless steel is often compromised, making the surface highly susceptible to weld tint (heat tint) and oxide scale. Through our specialized pickling and passivation process, we thoroughly eliminate these surface impurities and facilitate the regeneration of a dense, protective chromium oxide film on the metal surface. Compared to standard mechanical polishing, pickling and passivation provide far superior assurance of a workpiece's corrosion resistance in harsh environments. It is an indispensable process, whether utilized as a pre-treatment for electropolishing or as a standalone, highly effective rust-prevention step.
